not to be pretentious but i hate when ppl post jenny holzer’s lustmord series out of context like its not grungey or romantic its a commentary on sexual violence as a tool of genocide and if ur posting the artwork i feel like u have a responsibility to include that fact…if you dont know those are her poems that are written in pen on skin
also im talking like specifically about art blogs that post the images originally! obviously ppl reblogging them cant be expected to know the entire history of a random piece thats crossed their dash but if you’re the original poster u DO have access to that information so use it
